Check Your Password

Safe Checking (k-Anonymity)

  • We use the "Have I Been Pwned" database.
  • Safe: Your password never leaves your browser.
  • We only send the first 5 characters of the password hash.

Check Email Provider Privacy

Enter your email to see how private your mail provider is.

Why Privacy Matters

  • Free providers (Gmail, Yahoo) often scan emails for ads.
  • Server location determines which laws apply (US vs. Europe).
  • We recommend providers with End-to-End Encryption.

Was my Email in a Data Breach?

Billions of user records have been stolen in massive data breaches (like LinkedIn, Adobe, or Dropbox). Hackers trade these databases on the Dark Web to break into accounts using “Credential Stuffing”.

Our Data Breach Check connects anonymously to the Have I Been Pwned database to see if your information has been compromised.

How we check safely (k-Anonymity)

We take your privacy seriously. We never send your plain-text password to any server.

  1. Hashing: Your input is converted into a SHA-1 hash locally in your browser.
  2. Prefix Search: We send only the first 5 characters of that hash to the API.
  3. Local Comparison: The API returns a list of hundreds of potential matches. Your browser finds the specific match locally. Result: No one (not even us) knows what you searched for.

Is your Email Provider spying on you?

Most people use free email services like Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook. But “free” often comes with a hidden price tag: Your Privacy.

The Problem with Big Tech Email

  • Scanning: Some providers scan your emails to train AI or target ads.
  • Jurisdiction: US-based providers are subject to laws like the CLOUD Act, allowing government access to your data.
  • Lack of Encryption: Often, emails are encrypted in transit but stored as plain text on the server.

The Solution: Encrypted Email

We recommend switching to a privacy-first provider like Proton Mail or Tuta. These services use End-to-End Encryption (E2EE), meaning only you (and the recipient) can read the message. Not even the provider has the key to unlock your inbox.

What our Email Privacy Rating checks

Enter your email address above to see how your provider ranks based on:

  • Server Location (Swiss/EU vs. US)
